Do You Want More Clients?

Wouldn't it be wonderful if clients just came out of the ether, ready to sign up and hire us? Yes?

Ain't gonna happen. Yes, you will get referrals from raving fans and occasionally someone may ask you to work with them, and it is wonderful when that happens, in the meantime however I really recommend creating a marketing plan

If that makes you cringe then you've been doing it wrong. I know, I did it wrong for a long time.

A marketing plan is actually fun to create which makes it fun to implement. When you do what you love to do and in a way that has meaning for you then all of the 'angst and 'yuckiness' of creating a marketing plan evaporates.

When you know what you are good at and what skills you have and then connect that with the kind of clients you want to play with it becomes a smooth process.

Your marketing plan needs to be connected to the results you want to achieve and designed in a way that creates a number of daily and weekly actions that will ultimately lead you to your intended results.

The simplicity of this is often hard to comprehend because we are led to believe that we must be expert at everything before we can even begin to market our services and this isn't so.

You are already an expert at what you do; you simply need to let other people know what that is and those people need to be an ideal fit for the services you offer. And you need to do this consistently, that's the key.

I see many entrepreneurs, coaches and service professionals make the mistake of doing random acts of marketing and then disappear for weeks at a time before coming back with another spurt of enthusiasm, and then wonder why they aren't filling their pipeline of prospective clients.

To sum up: If you want more clients you need to:

 Decide on your desired outcome

 Create your ideal client 'Avatar'

Decide on the steps you will take each day/week

 Take action

My all time favourite mindset that I love to share with clients is: "It's the small steps we take consistently that bring the biggest results in the long term" I invite you to copy that and keep it handy as a reminder of your intention if you decide to follow my steps.

If you're in business then you need to market your business no matter what you do and you'll find that the old paradigms of 'annoying' people until they buy what you have are long gone.

This is the Inspiration Age and people want to be inspired. They want to grow and learn, expand their horizons and share their own skills and talents with the world, sometimes they need help to do that.

That's why they come to you. You need to be adept at educating them about your offerings and come from a place of love and service. In the Inspiration Age you cannot force anyone to buy from you nor would you want to. It's an alliance and it's sacred.

Next time you are in a selling conversation remember that you just may be the solution to the problem or issue that the other person needs solving. Relax into that and trust the process.
